Assistive technology is a great equalizer! With the use of assistive technology people with disabilities are able to communicate, travel, participate in school, work, play, maintain and enhance general health and well being and overall enjoy life. With funding support from the University of Texas at Austin Texas Technology Access Program, UCP Texas brings people and assistive technology together through:
- Training and technical assistance activities to promote the inclusion and independence of people with disabilities through the use of assistive technology;
- Training and technical assistance to the established University of Texas sponsored AT Demo Centers in the state for the agency staff, parents of children with disabilities, adults with disabilities, and professionals who provide services and supports;
- Collaboration with the Texas Technology Access Program and others on major assistive technology access issues and approaches to address the issues, including coordination of training and technical assistance efforts.
