If you’re a person with a disability–or a family with a child with a disability– and dream of owning a home in the Dallas metropolitan area, here’s some good news:

HOYO IS HERE!

The Dallas Home of Your Own Coalition offers innovative programs to help people with disabilities overcome the most common barriers to homeownership.  You may be eligible for one or more of these exciting programs:

Down Payment Assistance

Down payment and closing cost assistance for qualified buyers is available through the City of Dallas, Dallas County and other local sources.

HomeChoicesm Home Mortgage

An innovative home mortgage loan product sponsored by Fannie Mae may offer the flexibility needed to help you qualify for a loan.

Homebuyer Education

Learning the home buying process from “A to Z” will help you accomplish your goal of homeownership.  The courses are offered by the Dallas County Home Loan Counseling Center and Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Dallas.

Home Modification Funds

We’ll explore funding opportunities to help pay for modifications and remove barriers to make your home accessible.  You May Be Eligible!

You May Be Eligible!

To be eligible for HOYO assistance, you must:

  • Be able to document the disability;
  • Meet income guidelines;

The Steps to Homeownership

  1. Call Dallas Home of Your Own to learn about the program and sign up for the next HOYO Orientation.
