Easter Seals Home of Your Own Coalition offers three innovative programs to help people with disabilities overcome the most common barriers to homeownership. You may be eligible for one or more of these exciting programs:
Down Payment Assistance
Down payment and closing cost assistance for qualified buyers is available through funds from the City of Fort Worth and other local sources.
HomeChoices Home Mortgage
An innovative home mortgage loan product sponsored by Fannie Mae may offer the flexibility needed to help you qualify for a loan.
Home Modification Funds
We'll explore funding opportunities to help pay for modifications and remove barriers to make your home accessible.
You May Be Eligible!
To be eligible for HOYO assistance, you must:
· Have a documentable disability;
· Meet income guidelines;
· Qualify for mortgage financing and be able to make some contribution towards the down payment and upfront fees from your own funds; and
· Complete the HOYO orientation and homebuyer education classes.
The Steps to Homeownership
- Call Easter Seals Home of Your Own to learn about the program and sign up for the next HOYO Orientation.
- Attend the HOYO Orientation and learn about the assistance available in Tarrant, Parker or Johnson Counties and pick up a HOYO Participant Application.
- Return your completed application and begin working with HOYO staff on your next steps.
Bilingual staff are available to assist you.
